2017 Tour de Tamp, Tampieri and Ciab together for sustainable mobility.
It has become traditional for the Tampieri Group to organize a bike ride to foster socialization and raise environmental awareness. The event, which recurs every four years, took place on Thursday 15 June and was reserved to employees, family members and friends. The group left from the headquarters on via Granarolo 102, rode all along the production plant before venturing into nearby streets and making its way back on the cycle lane.
The so-called ‘bike to work’ is widespread in Northern Europe and is catching on in Italy too, thanks to companies that promote cycling to work among their employees.
The Tampieri Group has, therefore, decided to become a member of CIAB, or ‘Club Imprese Amiche della Bicicletta (Cycle-friendly Companies), the association that brings together all the companies, organizations, and professionals who care about sustainable mobility, and want to join together to develop some common services. The Club publishes on its website the list of the participating companies as well as all the actions in favour of cycling and sustainable mobility put in place for the sake of partners, customers and the community at large. In addition, all the employees of the participating companies are automatically insured against third party liability whenever they travel by bike in the whole of Europe.
So, this year it was not just a pleasant bike ride with colleagues. This initiative as a whole aimed at promoting cycling instead of driving to work, as our health, and that of our planet, can benefit greatly from simple collective day-to-day actions.
