The award ceremony of the 'Alfredo and Federico Tampieri' grants, offered for the ninth year, was held on Saturday the 11th of November at the Masini theatre.
"To embark on the journey of life, whatever the destination, whether you study or work, it is important to pack up wisely. I suggest you always carry with you perseverance, curiosity, spirit of adventure, drive for discovery, and laughter." This is the core of the introductory speech by Paola Tampieri.
Last year’s grants of €2,500 each were awarded to:
Marco Esopi, specialised in Corporate IT Systems
Stella Reggidoci, specialised in International Relations and Marketing
both graduates from 'Oriani' Secondary Technical Institute in Faenza
Ayoub El Rhalimi, specialised in Electronics
Stefano Pasini, specialised in Mechanics
both graduates from 'Bucci' Secondary Institute for Technical, Industrial and Vocational Training in Faenza.
"Every year the young people who get selected by their schools and awarded impress us not only with their knowledge, but with their strong passion for what they do, their determination and outlook for the future," stated Andrea Tampieri, the President of Tampieri Financial Group. "We hope our contribution will encourage and help them realise their dreams."
Even this year's event, entitled “#intercettiamo i giovani” ("#we reach out to the young") and hosted by Vittoria Graziani, was attended by two guests.
Mattia Strocchi, a 19-year-old inventor from Ravenna, mesmerised the public with his speech entitled "Additive Manufacturing: 3D Printing beyond borders”. Mattia, who studies Automation Engineering in Bologna, is the only Italian to have been invited to take part in the “International exhibition for young inventors 2017” held last August in Nagoya, Japan. In addition to the exoskeleton and the robotic hand displayed in the Land of the Rising Sun, he has also built a 3D printer and is currently working on ambitious projects from his (home!) workshop. "I loved the close attention paid by Tampieri to the life of the students. It shows a real interest in getting to know the young and communicating with them. It is not just about offering them a grant. Another important aspect was the fact that, while being inspired by a scientific-technical vision, the ceremony was engaging and moving too. Laughter yoga as well as the videos on the awarded students generated a future-oriented atmosphere of enthusiasm. A forward-thinking approach is fundamental and is part of an open-minded philosophy which is not easy to find in big companies. Sometimes their sheer gigantic size can hinder their movement towards innovation. My impression is that Tampieri is very reactive to innovative trends and makes room for innovation. Finceramica is definitely a relevant example," said Mattia Strocchi.
"Happiness is a choice" is the title of the speech with which Fabrizio Goodman Fogli excited and engaged his public, so much so that upon leaving the theatre many were still chanting the phrase "molto bene, molto bene, yeah!" ("very well, very well, yeah!") prompted by him. Fabrizio is a graphic designer and certified teacher of laughter yoga, and for some years now has also volunteered as hospital clown for the non-profit organisation he established in 2009. In 2013 he opened the first Laughter Club in Ravenna, where with other colleagues he teaches to laugh for no reason through "spontaneous" laughter exercises, where eye contact and playfulness bring about real and contagious laughter. "It was a great experience. I'm not talking about me, but about the young faces which in quick succession took to the stage and I saw smile in the stalls. This is an extraordinary event which gives the young the importance they deserve on the stage and in our hearts. It’s extraordinary to repay the young for their dedication and efforts which we too often take for granted, since, to quote Thomas Edison, "genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration." I hope I managed to give the participants an extra smile which can light them up when they most need it," said Fabrizio Fogli.
