In 2018 the Tampieri Group celebrated its first 90 years of operation. This is a remarkable milestone for a company which, generation after generation, has always been able to reinvent itself by investing in research and development, without losing sight of its most important asset: the family.
While the Tampieri family has always been the heart and mind of the company, over the years it has expanded to include hundreds of employees with a common objective of growth and innovation.
In the '30s its primary business focus was the processing of grape seeds from which to extract crude oil. Today the Group is at the forefront of several markets and boasts extraordinary results. In particular, it is the Italian leader in the processing of sunflower oil and the world leader in the production of grapeseed oil.
For about a century the Group has cultivated its inborn ambition to continue to grow and invest locally, which is why, besides producing oils and meals, it is now focusing also on research and manufacturing of medical devices in bio-ceramic material for regenerative surgery. This is where Finceramica, an innovative one-of-a-kind company, comes into play. The Tampieri Group greatly values research, development and innovation. One more pillar is at the base of the 'Tampieri way of thinking': the respect for the environment.
This principle has inspired the creation of Faenza depurazioni, a technologically advanced company which every day treats the wastewater from the plants of the Group and those of third parties. Tampieri's responsible attitude towards the environment found further momentum with the establishment of Tampieri green energy, a green company which uses by-products to generate energy for both the Group's own consumption and the national grid. This brings to a close a virtuous cycle which is crucial for attaining sustainability.
On 31 december 2023 the Tampieri financial group's workforce comprised 58 employees and close collaborators.
Tampieri was established in 1928, when Alfredo Tampieri set up a company that extracted crude oil from processed grape seeds.
In 1967 Federico, Adriano and Giovanni started diversifying the seed processing, thus boosting their father's enterprise.
As years went by, Tampieri engaged in the processing of grape marc too and grew uninterruptedly until 1996, when the processing of seed oils and the production of refined oils for food use were added to the already existing production processes.
The constant rise in productivity experienced in the following years drove the Tampieri Group to expand its business abroad, so as to increase its capacity. It is against this background that in 1997 and 2011 rose respectively Agf Cereal Rumena and Tampieri Hungaria, established in order to secure a constant flow of raw materials to the production plants in Faenza.
The tireless entrepreneurial spirit of the Tampieri family has allowed the Group to broaden the scope of its activities and tackle new challenges and new markets. In 1992 the Tampieri Group invested in innovation and took Finceramica under its wing. This is a spin-off of the Institute of Science and Technology of Ceramics (CNR-National Research Council) and deals with the research, production and sales of bio-medical solutions.
In the 'Tampieri way of thinking' innovation and research must always go hand in hand with respect for the environment and sustainable development. Guided by this fundamental principle and a strong sense of social responsibility, in 1987 the Group set out to create Faenza depurazioni. Thanks to its advanced technologies, this company treats not only the waste water from the Tampieri plants, but also helps to treat water from other companies' production processes, contributing significantly to the protection of the environment.
Another area the Tampieri family has a keen interest in is energy production. As early as in 1981 the Group started generating electricity for its own consumption and in 2002, thanks to increasingly advanced systems, Tampieri green energy was established. For fifteen years now this green company has been powering all the plants of the Group, using energy only from renewable sources.
In almost a century of industrial operation the Tampieri Group has walked along a path of constant growth that has resulted in the leadership position it holds today both at home and abroad.
Tradition Accountability Morals Passion Innovation Environment Research Investment
The Tampieri Group has always been working hard to attain absolute quality in all its production processes. Excellence is not regarded as a goal, rather, as a starting point to meet the present and future challenges the Group has set for itself. This is the very spirit that has allowed the Tampieri family to expand over the years, as its enthusiasm and guiding principles rubbed off on the rest of the team, made up by hundreds of workers.
It is through these family principles that tradition is passed on and takes deep roots in the Group companies. While research and development lie at the core of the work carried out by Finceramica in the bio-medical field, respect for the environment and sustainability are the pillars on which Tampiery green energy and Faenza depurazioni rest. Risen to support the original oil mill, these companies aim to contribute to the growth and vitality of the region around Faenza, which has always been at the heart of all the Group activities and investments.
The new logo combines three T's (initial of Tampieri) to visually represent and signify, on the one hand, the centrality of family principles, on the other hand, the inclination towards development, growth and dynamism. They are a reminder of the three macro-families: the founding family, the extended family and the family of companies.
The logo is shaped by the rotational motion of the line which generates an independent time system, the Tampieri Time, which revolves around the Sun, a universal symbol of energy, optimism and vitality, as well as the very essence of the spirit driving the family-business. The union of the three T's forms a visual system: a liquid identity that can be adjusted to suit every brand of the Tampieri corporate Group thanks to the flexibility of the line, the colour and the character. The Tampieri logo represents the core generating the rotational motion of the three T's.
The three elements (line, colour, character) bring together the whole of the brands, each with its own specific nature, creating a unique system of meaning and relation capable of conveying the whole of Tampieri corporate values with immediacy and simplicity, as befits a strong and recognizable project of visual identity.
